Rapid Access Appointments (within 24-48 hours) are available to patients with a confirmed or strongly suspected diagnosis of breast cancer and melanoma.

  • How long does it take to get an appointment with Dr Ling?

    Dr Ling will see most patients within 2 weeks of referral. Rapid Access Appointments (within 24-48 hours) are available to patients with a confirmed or strongly suspected diagnosis of breast cancer or melanoma. Dr Ling has regular operating lists at all 3 private hospitals on the Central Coast and waiting times for surgery are 1 to 2 weeks. 

  • Which hospitals does Dr Ling operate at?

    Dr Ling operates exclusively in the private system on the Central Coast at Gosford Private Hospital, Brisbane Waters Private Hospital and Tuggerah Lakes Private Hospital. Dr Ling no longer works in the public system. 

  • Does the practice bulk bill?

    There is an initial consultation fee to see Dr Ling in the consulting rooms at Gosford, Kanwal and Woy Woy. There are reduced rates for Pensioners and Health Care cardholders. Follow-up consultations are bulk-billed.

  • Does Dr Ling provide GP Education sessions?

    Yes. Dr Ling enjoys meeting local GPs and can visit your practice for a Lunch & Learn session. Please contact the practice to arrange. You may also wish to subscribe to GP Update, our newsletter for Central Coast general practitioners. 

  • What investigations are required for patients with a new diagnosis of breast cancer?

    Breast imaging (mammogram and ultrasound) and biopsy are the standard ‘minimum’ investigations. Dr Ling will arrange further investigations (including blood tests and staging scans) if required.  

  • Does Dr Ling see patients for cosmetic surgery?

    No. Dr Ling does not perform routine cosmetic surgery. If a patient has a concern regarding her breasts on the background of previous cosmetic surgery, Dr Ling is happy to assess them and treat as appropriate. 

  • Does Dr Ling offer a Rapid Access Endoscopy service?

    Yes. The Rapid Access Endoscopy service allows eligible patients to have both consultation and endoscopy on the same day. Procedures are performed within 2 weeks of referral.
